Why are flea and tick meds for Cats and Dogs so expensive?
I've been looking on line for someplace to buy these medicines at a reasonable price, and I just about do a tail-spin at the over pricing. Is there any place you can get a package of 3 (for 3 months) at a fair price?
They are expensive due to the research and development costs, and because their ingredients are not cheap. You may want to check out the prices from your vet - it may be cheaper. Most of the flea products are available from the vet this time of year with a buy 6 get 1 free offer. And there is no shipping. I got 7 vials of Revolution (which is the most expensive of the common flea meds) for about $90. Much cheaper than if I had gotten a script and ordered it online - I would only have gotten 6 vials, and then would have had to pay shipping and handling (which you pay even when it says free shipping - it's just hidden in the price). Advantage and Frontline have the same offers - but only when purchased at the vet.
