Flea and tick control?
We have a 4 month pug and we are currently using Frontline Plus.
The first week while using the spot on was okay, not even one tick. But lately even after a short walk, we find around 2-4 ticks on him.
We have learned to avoid grassy areas and wood settings but it seems that Frontline is not doing the job.
So I was wondering if there is any type of tick control that really works?
Also maybe the problem is with the form of the medicine, spot on. I was also wondering if there is anything in tablet form that could be given to him.

It's not that we just find the ticks crawling on him they bite him. We find them already stuck on him.
Frontline won't stop fleas and ticks from getting on the dog, but it will kill them once they are there. Nor will a flea or tick be killed immediately upon walking onto your dog. You are apparently checking the dog, and rightly so, and finding the ticks before the Frontline has a chance to kill them. Keep doing what you're doing, and be assured that the Frontline will eventually kill any ticks that you miss, given time.
Brewers yeast (not bakers as stated above) has been known to be a natural remedy for fleas, but not ticks. Although some flea and tick products contain poisons that can affect your dog, Frontline is completely harmless to dogs. Not everything that kills one kind of animal is harmful to another. It's kind of like the brewer's yeast--which will kill fleas but people or dogs can eat it or drink it and it's safe.
