Help! What birth control pill/dosage should i use [16 years old, 102 lbs?]?
(I can't go to a doctor for info because I don't want my parents to be involved.) I have ADHD and I daily take medicine for it [vyvanse and trazadone each day, plus generic adderol in the afternoon] and I already gave my age and weight...I've never used the pill before so I don't know what kind I need. I'm worried if birth control will have effects with the meds I currently take. Plus I don't know if there's a specific dosage or pill I need for my age/other requirements...I want to be completely protected and I don't want to screw up my body, but I am completely naive about this pill. Also, I'm hopefully getting birth control from my friend. We're the same age, but she weighs just a little more. Would it be safe to use her pills? Please help!
First of all, the pill ONLY works if you take it once a day at the same time every day. You really need to have a prescription for the pill and talk to a doctor before you start taking anything. There isn't really a dosage level to the pill, though certain brands contain more hormones than others. Yet another reason why you need to get a prescription from a doctor.
Also, I have no idea whether combining the pill with other medications can have an effect. Yet again, a doctor could tell you that.
Is there a Planned Parenthood near where you live? You can go there and get a birth control prescription without your parents, and most of the time you can get them for free since you are under 18 and don't want your parents to know. It's completely confidential and safe.
Do not take your friend's pills. Unless she can get a pack for you and a pack for her each month it's not going to work anyway because you MUST take one every single day to be protected (and so must she).
