Oral Suspension
Do the Methadone 40mg Diskettes for Oral Suspension HAVE to be dissolved in water or under the tongue?
I am used to taking liquid methadone but I recently got on the diskettes. I have been dissolving them in water in the morning & mixing them into a acidic drink, but it still tastes horrible! Why does the bottle say not to chew and/or swallow them? If I could just swallow them my life would be alot easier! Why can't I swallow them? What's the worst thing that can happen if I do break them up & swallow them? Thanks!
I have had the liquid methadone & the wafers. I also had trouble drinking the dissolved solution. I experimented taking them in different ways & found that if you break them up into 1/4 pieces or 1/8 pieces & swallow them that you won't notice a difference between that & dissolving them.
