K9 Advantix 55
Can you double dose K9 Advantix Topical Spot On for 55 lb+ if your dog is 100 lb? 150? 200?
There is no Advantix product for dogs in the Saint Bernard weight range (160-250 lb in adulthood). Can we give him a double dose?
Our Saint Bernard recovering from a flea infestation. He is on this third cycle of K9 Advantix Topical Spot On for dogs >55lb. Since he is so big, can we give him a double dose? The vet thinks it would be ok, but I want some second opinions! What do people with very large dogs do for topical treatments?
(Because his fur is so thick, we didn't even know he HAD fleas until he ripped out his fur to the skin and caused a staph infection.)
These giants can also be sensitive to chemicals.
I wouldn't double it until I found a vet who had had experience with this.
If the 55+ size is doing the job, there is no reason to increase the dose.
