Frontline Plus 22lbs
Can I buy larger dose of frontline plus and split it between two small dogs?
I've always just bought the upto 22lbs applicator for my 2 dogs that weigh in at 20lbs. I was told I can buy the next dosage 23-44lb and split it in half between my two dogs. Is this true? also, I think frontline has stopped working for my dogs. I have yet found any flea on them but they keep scratching. Should I change it to k9 advantix? is that any good?
Theoretically yes but it's pretty hard to accurately split a dose. Then you'll have one dog getting too much, and the other not getting enough. PetArmor Plus is the same active ingredients but should be cheaper. Advantage is usually cheaper than Frontline Plus as well. I've also had good luck buying online. You can compare prices between several places such as Petco, Petsmart, 1800petmeds and often find one of them with a good sale. I've also found good prices on Amazon. Just be careful that the seller is a reputable pet supply company if you go with Amazon.
If you part the fur in several places and look carefully, make sure you aren't seeing any small brown/black dirt specks. If you still see no signs of fleas, please consider the possibility that something other than fleas is making them itchy. Mites and fungus are contagious possibilities. Allergies are possible but not likely if both are scratching, unless they are related. Good luck!
