I have cats and a dog and have heard that the kind of treatment that uses a dropper on the back of the neck can be harmful to cats and even fatal if they come into contact with a dog that has been treated.
I have always used this kind of flea treatment for my cats but now I have a dog and want to be sure I wont harm my cats if I use the dog treatment on my dog.
OTC flea medications can be very harmful to cats, even the ones labeled for use in cats can cause problems. You should use the medications prescribed by your veterinarian, they are safe and much more effective. Follow the instructions for application, and the drug will be absorbed into the oil layer of the skin (no systemic absorption) and your pets will be safe and flea free.
