Flea Comb
Hi I have 2 kittens 10 weeks old. they have fleas. I use the flea comb and i bathe them once every week.?
i want to use advantage but they are always grooming each other. I'm not sure what to do.. I asked for advice @ the petsmart and the cashier said one of her cats almost died using advantage because they licked it off. I'm not sure what to do. Like i said they always groom each other. I have use the flea comb and i took about 17 adult fleas out of my kitten i vacum every other day . Please advise anyone
You need to ask advice at your vets.Bathing kittens is a bad idea, you should never bath kittens or cats at all unless they are too dirty to clean themselves as it takes the natural oils out of their fur.
The cashier at Petsmart isn't a vet so can't give you proper advice.
You will probably be prescribed a drop on the back of the neck flea treatment, especially for kittens, and be told to simply keep them apart for a little while until it's safe for them to groom each other again.
You may also need a spray for your house to make sure the kittens don't get re-infected.
It really does pay to get the proper stuff from the vets and clear the problem up once and for all and then treat the kittens regularly after that, again the vet or nurse will advise you.
