Flea prevention for pregnant cat?
I have an outdoor cat an in indoor pregnant cat. My outside cat has a flea collar but somehow we still have found a couple small fleas on on carpet. I need to somehow protect my pregnant cat but all of the sprays, collars etc say do not use on pregnant or nursing cats. Also is there anything that i can use in the house that would be safe and we wouldn't have to remove the kids nd animals? She is ready to deliver any day and I would like to take care of it before babies come.
If you are not going to use any pesticides you will just have to do a lot of vacuuming and washing.
You can keep fleas under control in this way.
When a cat has a bad infestation, you can give them a bath and use a very mild pet recommended soap or shampoo ( not an insecticide one). This will get rid of the fleas on her body. Of course it will be a tad stressful for her. Around the house you can put powder on the carpet and vacuum it up. I think you need to look at this as weighing up the odds. What do you want? Getting rid of fleas is hard work without chemicals, but it can be done. using chemicals carefully is an option....depends on how bad the infestation is and how purist you wanna be.
Where is the outside cat picking them up from? can you treat this area?
