Dogs Lb Months
Is it okay for a healthy, young, 85 lb dog to hike 10-15 miles a few times a week?
Like it's not a big deal for me, and he seems to love it. I don't want to hurt him though. He's a 14 month old Labradoodle. He swims too.
Okay sometimes it's 6 or 7 times a week. I do a lot of trail hiking.
He gets shaved next week at the groomer's. We alwats carry lots of water.

He'll love it. Any time he's not up for it, you'll spot the signs. The main thing that dogs DON'T spot at the time and let you know about is joint wear and tear. A decent diet, possibly with supplements, usually averts such problems. You could always give your vet a quick phone call just to check if your dog's skeleton/muscles are mature enough, but I suspect he/she will just say they wish all the dogs they treated had such adventurous, stimulating lives.
