Box Dogs 55
Has the old version of Advantage the same as Advantage 100?
I used to use the old blue box of Advantage for dogs over 55 lbs on my cats(divided up of course) to save money. But now I can only find the Advantage 100. Is it the same? I don't want to put it on my cats until I know.
Basically, you obviously shouldn't be using Advantage for dogs on your cats...there is a specific amount that a cat needs to successfully treat/prevent fleas and anything over that amount is a) a waste of the product and b) an "overdose" of pesticide that you pet shouldn't be exposed to. Yes Advantage is a fairly safe drug but think of it like using a whole tube of Polysporin on a papercut on your finger...wasteful and a lot of antibiotics being absorbed into your body that you don't need. The dose for a cat is so small that its hard to think about your measuring it from a larger tube of the dog Advantage.
As far as Advantage 55 versus Advantage 100, they are different products, the 100 has almost double the fluid ounces of medication than the 55...and the 55 is still available...maybe your supplier is just out of stock?
